from the Columbus Public Library to all Bartholomew County residents. |

was renamed the Columbus-Bartholomew County Library.
1923 Various businesses
in the town of Hope served as library "stations" from
this time until 1966. |

1962 Library system becomes
Bartholomew County Public Library with a 7 member board of trustees. |

1966 Hope Branch Library
is set up in rented space at 638 Main Street on the west side
of Town Square. |

1994 Planning
began for a new Hope Branch Library. Deborah Berke was hired as the architect. |

1994 Hope Branch
Library is completed at 635 Harrison Street on the east side
of Hope Town Square. |

June 28. 1998 Hope Branch Library
is dedicated with a ceremony and open house. |

July 13, 1998 The new Hope
Branch Library began service to the public. |

Today Hope Branch offers
more than 30,000 items for checkout and programming for all ages. |
